Kindness Activity for Valentine’s Day
February is here, and in my classroom, we love celebrating kindness and friendship this month. I wanted to make a craft that would be cute enough to decorate the room for February, but I also wanted to have a meaningful writing activity to go with it. My students had so much fun making their little bee crafts, and I honestly LOVED how easy it was to have all the pieces on one page. I copied the template onto white cardstock and just let the students color the pieces (we did this whole group, so I could show them which hearts to leave white (for the wings) and which ones to color! I also showed them how to color the bee body, and how to add a smile with a black sharpie!
If you’re feeling a little crafty and have a little extra prep time, you can also copy the templates onto colored construction paper, cut the pieces, and have students cut and assemble the bees that way. Do whatever works best for you and your class! I’m all about keeping crafts as simple and fun as possible, and I was so happy with the way these turned out!
