St. Patrick’s Day Activities and a Lucky Charms FREEBIE!

March is almost here, and that means lots of St. Patrick’s Day themed activities for your classroom! I know my second graders love having special “themed” writing and word work activities to choose from during our Daily 5 Stations.

Here are 5 easy ideas to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day all month long:

  1. Have a read-aloud of a book about St. Patrick's Day. Some of my favorites are How to Catch a Leprechaun,  Fiona’s Luck,  That’s What Leprechaun’s Do, and There Was and Old Lady Who Swallowed a Clover (one of my students’ favorites!)

  2. Create a Leprechaun Trap: Have each student create their own Leprechaun Trap out of recycled materials. You can make this a STEM challenge, set a time limit, and let them create! Here’s a freebie I found that worked great for my 2nd graders!

  3. Create a St. Patrick's Day scavenger hunt around the classroom.

  4. Have a pot of gold coin hunt: Hide coins around the classroom and have students search for them.

  5. Do a Lucky Charms Sort & Graph! Grab my FREEBIE here!
